The National Defence Academy (NDA) is a premier joint services training institution of the Indian Armed Forces, where cadets from the Army, Navy, and Air Force train together before they go on to their respective service academies for further pre-commissioning training. The NDA is located in Khadakwasla, Pune, and is the first tri-service academy in the world. The NDA conducts a written exam twice a year for admission to the academy. The exam consists of two papers, Mathematics and General Ability Test, and is conducted in offline mode. Candidates who qualify the written exam are called for an interview by the Services Selection Board (SSB). Upon successful completion of the training, cadets are commissioned as officers in the Indian Armed Forces.
